The works to arrange the western seafront of Balestrate were carried out in an area that becomes a strong tourist attraction in summer. The project aimed at the environmental regeneration of the existing public spaces, part of which fall within the SCI "Foce del Torrente Calatubo", concentrating on a new pedestrian promenade in immediate contact with the beach and limiting the presence of artificial structures.

The project improves the environmental integration of the seafront road and favours a non-vehicular use of the site, with all interventions adapted to the principle of easy reversibility. Access to the sea is facilitated with walkways of laminated timber and stainless steel; to limit impact, a bed of local stone defines the edge of the beach with a more natural margin.
