The parish of the Holy Spirit lies in a peripheral area of Benevento, marked by a strong agricultural character, in which the new church stands as a centrality and catalyst for the local community. At the large scale, the new complex settles on the orography, dialoguing with the city and its historic centre. The faceted volumes of the hall and bell tower, set on a base that mediates the change in level, look towards the city and its landmarks.
Volumes and architectural pauses, paths and silences mark the churchyard, while the great triangular façade welcomes the faithful near the entrance. The great door, with a decorated base band, imposes itself as a solemn pause before entering a sacred space. The complex is configured by the relationship between the hall, the longitudinal building uphill containing the parish functions, and the soaring bell tower which, through their geometries and material presence, vibrate under the light to generate the welcoming setting of the churchyard.
