The new fire station in Lecco establishes precise spatial relationships with its context and integrates into the lakeside landscape. The arrangement of the ground is defined by three areas extending parallel to the coastline, with a gradient of permeability from vegetal to mineral. The morphology generates three outdoor spaces: to the south the car parks and main entrance; an open court facing the lake for drills; to the north a space for rescue vehicles.
The drill tower, central to the court, qualifies as a new landmark, manifesting the presence of the station. The building is articulated over two levels; the connection to the ground occurs through three blocks containing the different entrances, above which develops the compact volume of the rooms and offices.
